A few months ago I traveled to Iverness California for an engagement session with these two love birds. What a long drive…But in the end it was worth it. I think seeing the open field they were wanting to marry in was a real eye-opener to the harsh light that would be casting over their faces while saying their wedding vows to each other. Photography is important to them and with my advice in mind, they decided to exchange vows in the shade of the trees situated in a beautiful lawn on the venue property instead. We saved the open field of beautiful golden grass for our session together at sunset. Exactly what open fields of golden grass are for…right? Right!
Friends and family traveled from far and wide to celebrate with Matthew & Theresa, and infact some stayed the entire weekend on the Cottages at Point Reyes Seashore property in one of their many houses. It’s a cute venue which I would highly recommend to anyone getting married. It was really quite lovely.
The day started out very early for me and my assistant Donna. Fort Bragg is approximately 4 1/2 hours away, and with a 11 am start time we had to get our selves moving really quite early. So we arrived almost 30 minutes before we needed to be there, walked around, met quite a few new friends and was welcomed with open arms right away from Matthew’s mama Rebecca 🙂 She was so helpful and such a sweetheart. Walking into Theresa’s cottage I knew right away it was going to be a great wedding day; she had so many friends and family members buzzing around her, getting her whatever she needed. I don’t think she could have wiped the grin off her face if she tried.
And what’s sweeter than a mama and daddy seeing their daughter in her wedding dress before anyone else had a chance to see her? Nothing! Matt & Eileen were two of the happiest, most proud parents I had the pleasure of photographing. It was really beautiful!
And that right there is the day in short – happy, smiling faces all day long. It was a wonderful wedding day.
Thank you Matthew & Theresa for including me in what is, no doubt, one of the best days of your lives.
