I guess you could say that’s what is going on right now. I sit here at my desk, trying to come up with things to do. I know in a matter of a few weeks wedding season is going to kick in high gear, and I’ll be so busy, it’s going to be hard to breathe.
So I sit and wait.
And then I remember why I only book clients who I love.
In the times when breathing becomes optional, and my family goes to the back burner, and my client gets all my attention – it’s even more important to make sure you love them. And they love you.
For me, I’m very blessed to have a supportive husband and really great kids. They know this is important to me, and they love being a part of it.
In fact, if you’re a client or a wedding vendor who will be working with me in the coming months, you’ll actually see a new face with me.
She’s my daughter and she’s amazing.
The time I take from my kids doing photography can be a little rough (because I have to be honest here. You may think I just show up at noon the day of the wedding and go home at 8, and that’s the end of that. No, actually that’s just the fun part of my job. The other 40+ hours of a wedding job is spent on the phone, on the computer or at meetings. It can be more than full time, and it’s always hard on my family to have me away from them).
But this blog post isn’t about me complaining…no, actually it’s just the opposite.
Not only have I figured out the secret to having a happy work-life (wonderfully appreciative clients who LOVE me) but now, this year, I get to include my oldest daughter on a shoot-day.
Am I blessed?
